As part of the p<\/a><\/span>roject<\/span> we are implementing in Jordan to promote the protection and right to healthcare for people with disabilities in situations of extreme vulnerability in the Azraq refugee camp, we held a training workshop for professionals from Al Hussein Society (AHS), our local partner<\/span>. In addition, it is worth noting that the recently developed \u2018Manual for the prevention of gender violence against people with disabilities\u2019 has been taken as a <\/span>reference.p<\/span> was held for professionals from Al Hussein Society (AHS)<\/strong>, our local partner.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, from February 9 to 13, these professionals received training on <\/span>identifying<\/span> and protecting minors and women with disabilities from abuse, both in the refugee camp and in host communities<\/span>. <\/span>Led by ONG RESCATE<\/strong>, our partner in this project funded by the <\/span>Generalitat<\/span><\/strong> Valenciana<\/strong>, the workshop took place at the AHS headquarters<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Over the five-day training, AHS staff enhanced their skills and knowledge to <\/span>identify<\/span> cases of abuse and refer them to the <\/span>appropriate services<\/span> when necessary<\/span>. <\/span>Additionally, the newly developed \u2018Manual for the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence Against People with Disabilities\u2019 served as a key reference throughout the training<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This manual was designed to guide the AHS team and strengthen their ability to detect and refer cases of sexual abuse in the Azraq refugee camp and nearby host communities<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This manual integrates international standards with Jordanian legal frameworks, providing practical and culturally relevant tools for frontline workers<\/span>. <\/span>It details the various forms of abuse and violence, early warning signs, and referral protocols to connect victims with the right support services<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
