In partnership with our local ally, the Ren\u00e9 Moawad Foundation (RMF), and with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), we have launched a new project<\/a> in Lebanon to support apple producers in the Governorates of North Lebanon and Baalbek-Hermel<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We will work alongside them to strengthen their rural livelihoods, helping them navigate Lebanon\u2019s multidimensional crisis and overcome the risks and vulnerabilities they currently face<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With a special focus on the most vulnerable groups, particularly women and young people, we will strengthen their skills to enable them to pursue apple production as a profession and generate their own income<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enhancing<\/span> apple<\/span> production<\/span> through<\/span> technical<\/span> support<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the short term, they will gain access to essential equipment and supplies, either individually or through their cooperatives and small businesses, to enhance the efficiency of their production systems<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Crop renewal will also be promoted through the introduction of new apple varieties and production diversification. With the training provided, producers will be able to grow higher-quality apples in greater quantities and at lower costs<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ultimately, this<\/span> initiative aims to increase producers\u2019 incomes while fostering more sustainable and resilient production practices that minimize environmental impact<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Professional training<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Participants will receive training in marketing, management, and business skills, as well as opportunities to build partnerships across different sectors<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, the project will promote rural development by enhancing job opportunities for vulnerable populations facing employment barriers. This will be achieved through the creation of new businesses supported by incubators and vocational training programs<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
