The Foundation for the Social Promotion of Culture (FPSC) organizes, in collaboration with the Euro-Arab NGO Network for Development and Integration (READI) and Casa \u00c1rabe, the Seminar: “Libyan Women : Rights and Responsibilities. Experiences in other Arab countries\u201d<\/strong>, which will take place on October 25 and 26 in the Hall of Ambassadors of Arab House in Madrid, and is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.<\/p>\n

The future of Arab women is still writing. Throughout history they have been a vehicle, as mediators and peacemakers, toward positive change, and played a key role in the face of countering radicalization and the emergence of extremism.<\/p>\n

In Libya, small cells formed during the revolution were transformed into partnerships for the rights of women. Women have occupied a place in society that did not imagine. But they raise their protest against the royal resistance for them to occupy a more prominent place in the institutions and bodies of government<\/p>\n

During the seminar we will\u00a0 addressed such\u00a0 topics as the role of Libyan women in decision-making, the role of women in family, society and in strengthening the structure of local government in Libya.<\/p>\n

The seminar will be attended among others:<\/p>\n

Magda El Sanousi, <\/strong>Head of UNSMIL’s Women Empowerment Section in Libya, Najet Karaborni,<\/strong> President of FCEO (Future & Civic Engagement Organization) and President founder of TPM BEST (Tunisia Global Pole of Good Health & Well Being for All) (Tunisia), Zahra\u2019 Langi, <\/strong>Cofounder of Libyan women\u2019s Platform for Peace y member of Arab Women Think Tank (Libya), Huda Abuzeid<\/strong>, TV producer and filmmaker (Libya) and Claudette Habesch,<\/strong> Former President of Caritas MONA (1999-2007) and General Secretary of Caritas Jerusalem (1987-2013). <\/p>\n

On October 25 in the afternoon we will visit the Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
