\nOn 28 February, representatives of the Jerusalem OTC, PARC technicians, Azzoun mayor and municipal technicians, as well as the team from the FPSC delegation in Jerusalem visited the construction works of the Azzoun composting plant, which are carried out under the Rural Development Agreement in the West Bank<\/a>. this plant is scheduled to start operating in September 2017.<\/p>\n

As for the equipment, the cooperative will take care of the installation of one part. For its operation and production of compost, the plant will be transferred to a mixed society of the municipality and a cooperative of farmers.<\/p>\n

\"\"The composting process begins with the reception of the waste in the area of weighing and control, to continue later with its distribution and storage in the reception platforms of waste by means of a loader. Afterwards a grinding, and homogenization is carried out and additives are added if necessary. After 45 days of drying, the packaging and labelling are carried out for later commercialization.<\/p>\n

Compost will be marketed in 24 kg bags and is expected to be widely accepted by local society as it does not contain muddy sediments from water treatment plants.
