The aim is to consider changes in daily life that help to reduce air pollution and progressively to eliminate the individual contribution to global warming. In this way, it will help to stop its negative effects on health and on the planet.<\/p>\n<p>United Nations considers that one of the causes of air pollution is agriculture: &#8220;There are two major sources of air pollution from agriculture: livestock, which produces methane and ammonia, and the burning of agricultural waste. Around 24 percent of all greenhouse gases emitted worldwide come agriculture, forestry and other land-use.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Aware of the importance, in its work of cooperation, the Foundation has allocated a large number of its resources to promote actions to achieve sustainable agrarian development, through more efficient use of resources. Also through access, conservation, protection, and improvement of natural resources, reducing, for example, the use of chemical pesticides that contaminate the soil, in favor of compost. Likewise, the protection of rural livelihoods and the improvement of equity and rural well-being are favored. In addition, it helps to increase the resilience of the rural population and to strengthen responsible and effective governance mechanisms. All of this significantly benefits food security and environmental protection.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, it contributes to achieving, among others, objective 3.9 of the Sustainable Development Objectives of substantially reducing by 2030 the number of deaths and diseases caused by hazardous chemicals and air, water and soil pollution; and objective 12.2, aimed at achieving sustainable management and the efficient use of natural resources.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, thanks to funding from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the Generalitat Valenciana, Social Promotion Foundation develops several <strong>projects that include an important environmental component:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/en\/portfolio-items\/contribute-to-improving-the-resilience-of-vulnerable-rural-communities-in-west-bank-and-gaza-to-enable-their-access-to-rights-in-a-sustainable-and-equitable-manner\/?portfolioCats=1645\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Agreement: Contribute to improving the resilience of vulnerable rural communities in West Bank and Gaza to enable their access to rights in a sustainable and equitable manner<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/en\/portfolio-items\/convenio-fortalecimiento-del-acceso-a-medios-de-vida-resilientes-y-sostenibles-con-enfoque-de-genero-de-las-comunidades-pastorales-y-agropastorales-en-la-region-somali\/?portfolioCats=1645\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Agreement: Strengthening access to resilient and sustainable livelihoods with a gender approach of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities in the Somali Region<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/en\/portfolio-items\/desarrollo-rural-integrado-con-enfoque-ambiental-y-de-genero-en-east-wellega-oromiya-etiopia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Integrated rural development with an environmental and gender approach in East Wellega (Oromiya) Ethiopia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/en\/portfolio-items\/apoyo-a-la-generacion-de-ingresos-y-capacidad-productiva-sostenible-de-pequenos-productores-y-productoras-de-gaza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Support for the generation of income and sustainable productive capacity of small producers in Gaza<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"et_pb_slider et_pb_slider_fullwidth_off et_pb_gallery_post_type\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_slides\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_slide\" style=\"background: url(https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Convenio_Palestina-5.jpg);\"><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_slide\" style=\"background: url(https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Etiopia_GenValenciana-1.jpg);\"><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_slide\" style=\"background: url(https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Convenio-Palestina-2018.jpg);\"><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_slide\" style=\"background: url(https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Etiopia_mujer.jpg);\"><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_slide\" style=\"background: url(https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Gaza6.png);\"><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_slide\" style=\"background: url(https:\/\/promocionsocial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Badhasa-Jarso-1.jpg);\"><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every 5th of June, since 1974, and designated by the United Nations, World Environment Day is celebrated, with the aim of raising public awareness and calling to action on a particularly pressing environmental issue.
