During the months of December and January, various trainings have been carried out to achieve the objective of our project<\/strong><\/a> of promoting access to decent work through micro-enterprise, with an emphasis on tourism, for people in vulnerable situations; a project that we developed in consortium with the Association of Upper Egypt for Education and Development (AUEED) <\/strong>and that finances the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thus, on December 11, an online training was carried out through Zoom for project staff on the formal economy<\/strong> and how to support companies in their transition to it. Specifically, the topics addressed were: types of companies; how taxes are calculated and types; steps to issue a tax sheet and business registration; and benefits of the company with formal economy.<\/p>\n

Two sessions were held on the same day, one for the Sohag and Assiut offices and one for the Luxor and Qena oficies, and were attended by a total of 51 people (including 3 employees from the Cairo headquarters).<\/p>\n

Subsequently, a “Product Design Workshop”<\/strong> was held on December 22 in Luxor and December 23 in Sohag, with 12 and 7 participants, respectively.<\/p>\n

As a follow-up to a previous workshop<\/a> held in September, the objective was to address the basics of product design and assess the quality of the products produced by the participants. The workshop was given by a professional designer, together with her team, who will also develop specific individual and\/or group follow-up plans in order to guarantee the improvement of the quality of the products and, potentially, the launch of new lines. of products.<\/p>\n

In January, on the 12th, and with a duration of 10 days, the “International Pastry and Sweets”<\/strong> training began in Luxor for which 5 people with business projects in the field of cooking\/food and beverages were selected. This training has been held at the EGOS center (part of the Luxor Chamber of Commerce), and in synergy with it, a certified trainer from the Abu Korkas Training Center has developed the technical skills of the participants to produce delicious pastries related to Egyptian cuisine and international, teaching the study plan developed by said center.<\/p>\n

Finally, the training in “Digital Marketing”<\/strong> has started on January 17 and 18 in Luxor, January 19 and 20 in Beni Hammadi, January 24 and 25 in Sohag and January 26 and 27 in Assiut.<\/p>\n

Following the results of the market study according to which entrepreneurs in Upper Egypt do not fully understand the power of marketing and its best practices, the need for training in this area was assessed.<\/p>\n

To do this, through a tender process, an external expert consultant was hired to plan and implement a practical and attractive 2-day training, which will end in March, and in which 300 people are expected to participate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
