In the region of Upper Egypt<\/strong>, one of the areas with the highest rates of poverty in the entire country, women see how the existing inequality with men aggravates their economic situation and reduces their employment and income opportunities and their presence in public life.<\/p>\n

The Social Promotion Foundation<\/strong>, together with its local partner Association of Upper Egypt for Education and Development (AUEED)<\/strong>, seeks through its project<\/a>, financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID)<\/strong>, to generate income opportunities for women that endows them with economic autonomy, and provides them with sufficient professional and social skills to catapult their participation in decision-making spaces.<\/p>\n

The program that promotes entrepreneurship, contemplates the development of tools for professional training in tailoring, with its own curriculum, and the participation of an expert external consultant who plans and imparts a training of trainers to 12 AUEED employees, 6 people in the clothing workshops in Abu Korkas<\/em>, Bayadeya<\/em> and Beni Ebeid<\/em> and 6 facilitators from non-formal schools of AUEED.<\/p>\n

The training of trainers programme, through a ten-day tailoring workshop, was successfully conducted in Abu Korkas<\/em> this August.<\/p>\n

The training of trainers is being carried out in collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Design.<\/p>\n

These trainers, later, will be essential in the education and professional training in the tailoring sector, of Egyptian women and adolescents, who will acquire skills to be able to undertake micro-enterprises and guarantee opportunities to generate income for themselves and their families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
