FPSC, in conjunction with Al-Hussain Society (AHS), is carrying out an emergency project in the Za’atri refugee camp to support Syrian refugees with disabilities<\/strong><\/a>, including, but not limited to, the war wounded, people with congenital conditions and children with cerebral palsy. The project, which is being financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) within the framework of the “Improvement of the social integration of disabled people in the Middle East through accessibility”<\/a> convention, will be implemented over a period of six months.<\/p>\n

As part of the project, a physiotherapy centre has been set up inside the camp with a physiotherapist and a social worker, who will prepare assessments and deal with cases referred by other agencies working in the camp. FPSC personnel based in Za’atri are also organising awareness-raising campaigns to provide information about the rights and services for disabled people in the camp.<\/p>\n

Two specialist teams from a mobile clinic are providing additional support for work done at the centre.\u00a0 They visit twice a week in order to examine the patients and provide them with the mobility aids they require.<\/p>\n

These are the first pictures from the first rehabilitation sessions held for disabled Syrian refugees at the FPSC physiotherapy centre in the Za’atri camp:<\/p>\n
