On November 5, the FPSC with the Prestomedia Agency and Mediatrends organized in the NH Hotel Griffon in Rome, a meeting that included Maurizio Bezzeccheri, Area Manager for Latin America in Enel Green Power, as main speaker.<\/p>\n

Green Power is a company dedicated to developing and managing energy generation from renewable sources at the international level, with a presence in over 32 countries in Europe and America.<\/p>\n

During his speech, Bezzeccheri said “Latin America represents the future of Enel for the next five years; it is our promised land, with 600 million euros of investment, as set in the old plan for Mexico, Brazil and Chile. “This is due to the immediacy and good performance -given that Latin America has favorable conditions for its creation- of these renewable energies which are expected eventually to be less expensive than the traditional ones, for their constant and competitive cost with respect to Europe. Furthermore, advances in weather forecasting, allow combining energies, such as wind with photovoltaic.<\/p>\n

Some examples of renewable energies are in Chile, where, thanks to a strong social conscience, they are developing various ‘green’ innovative projects, taking advantage of the\u00a0 maritime movements to create energy. In Brazil, on the other hand, since 2009 auctions were opened to the private sector, and currently 93 percent of the energy is renewable.<\/p>\n

However, in some countries of Latin America, some factors delay the entry of this type of energy. Such is the case of Peru or Colombia, where the Camisea gas, its low price, or climatic variations, respectively, make them less competitive. Furthermore, there is no a favorable investment policy to the private sector.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Andean interconnections are expected to make a promising use of the renewable energy in the future of these countries, or soon, for example, in Ecuador.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
