The International Year of Family Farming 2014 has finished, declared so by United Nations under the slogan \u201cFeeding the world, and Caring for the planet\u201d, has made a major program of activities contributing to a better understanding of this economic activity and\u00a0 the families priority role play in the overall economic and social development of different countries.<\/p>\n

No doubt family farming is part of the solution of the problem of hunger. Over 90% of farms are run by an individual or a family, and produce about 80% of the world’s food.<\/p>\n

This celebration sponsored by the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization FAO and the World Rural Forum has convened numerous public and private organizations that wanted to join by contributing to publicize the important role of family farming.<\/p>\n

For this reason, the NGO Network for Development in Latin American Countries (REDI), established in 2005 and promoted by the FPSC has convened the Second Literary Contest, to promote literary creation among people with limited resources involved in cooperation projects in different countries of Latin America.<\/p>\n

This year the award has gone to the EFA students Project, an initiative of PROMO in Paraguay, to promote vocational training for young women and their incorporation into employment.<\/p>\n

The REDI Award winners were the following students for their respective works:<\/p>\n

\u00b7Elisa Angelene Ovelar Ruiz Diaz: The miracle.
\u00b7Roselli Claribel Prieto Sotelo: The miracle.
\u00b7Martina Jimenez: The planting of cassava and soybean.
\u00b7Ezequiela Vera Ben\u00edtez: A very poor family.
\u00b7Mar\u00eda Elizabeth Vera L\u00f3pez: The family that did not lose hope.<\/p>\n

The Jury Award grant has highlighted the interest and efforts of all the winners who participated, along the year, in a composition and writing workshop in Castilian, as their usual language of expression and oral and written communication is Guarani.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
