The aim is to increase the productive capacity and improve the economic situation of farmers; and to achieve food security and sovereignty for the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, reducing their dependence on the Israeli economy.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, a number of activities are planned:<\/p>\n<p>-Rehabilitation and cultivation of 150 dunums (15 hectares) with citrus and olive trees, as well as vegetables and seedlings, and 50 greenhouses.<br \/>\n-Training of farmers under a needs and rights-based approach.<br \/>\n-Creation of 1,600 work days to provide real job opportunities for 64 skilled and unskilled workers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Currently, as a result of the political and economic instability in the area, it is unfeasible for many rural families in the Gaza Strip to maintain their small and medium-sized production units due to the destruction of farmland and greenhouses and the rising costs.
