VOLUNTEERING
This activity also had the support of the Red REDI association.
Likewise, on July 2, Social Promotion Foundation, through its staff in Lebanon, facilitated the organization of a volunteer day for 25 young university students at the Amal School, in Zahle, to the Lebanese association ALDEC. The activity consisted of the development of games and sports activities with more than 120 refugee children in the nearby fields in the Beqaa Valley.
FAmILY VOLUNTEERING
Families of the Las Tablas-Valverde SchoolinMadridhavejointlycarriedout this volunteering at the residence of the Nuestra Señora del Camino Foundation, which serves people with functional diversity.
PARTICIPATION IN FEVOCAm ACTIVITIES
Social Promotion has actively participated in the creativity session to design the “FEVOCAM Plataforma de Entidades de Voluntariado de la Comunidad de Madrid” campaign on volunteering, which has been exhibited during the month of November at the Madrid Metro stations.
With the slogan “Impossible. Do you also dream of impossible? #Govolunteering” this campaign has sought to awaken in Madrid society interest in voluntary action as an opportunity to respond to some of the social concerns.
For Social Promotion it is fundamental to create in society, and especially among young people, a greater awareness of citizens, responsible and supportive, to promote their social participation, and train them to carry out their volunteering in an appropriate manner, and may even be agents of development.
VOLUNTEERING OF YOUNG PEOPLE FROm mADRID IN OCCUPATIONAL CENTERS
Social Promotion has signed a Collaboration Agreement with the Council of Social Policies of the Regional Government of Madrid and the Madrid Social Care Agency (AMAS) under which performs leisure and accompaniment volunteering with young people in two of its Occupational Centers for people with intellectual disabilities in Barajas and Ciudad Lineal.
VOLUNTEERING OF YOUTH ASSOCIATIONS
Social Promotion has worked in 2018 with youth associations in Spain, with whom it has signed a collaboration agreement. Thus, it has carried out and coordinated voluntary activities and social action and volunteer training programs during the school year, in collaboration with other volunteer organizations, and also in summer, as
an essential part, and sometimes as a central axis, of the camps. He has also coordinated the European Voluntary Service (EVS), within the Erasmus + program of the European Commission..
INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERING
In 2018, the Foundation has made available to young people, various volunteer initiatives during the summer, to contribute and participate, in a generous, altruisticandsupportive,totrytoimprove the lives of more vulnerable people.
In this way, from June 23 to July 8, a group of young women students of 1st and 2nd year of high school and the university made a volunteer program in Kenya, organized jointly with the Zurbarán College. Their solidarity activity was developed in Kibubuti Primary School, close to Kimlea, through the rehabilitation of the school, school reinforcement, preparation of teaching materials, as well as leisure activities, crafts, and sports.
In Guatemala, thanks to the collaboration with the local organization FUDI and together with the university association Recoletos of Madrid, a volunteer program was developed from 7 to 22 July at the “Ixoqì” woman care center in Tecpán. Young professional and university women from Madrid carried out school support work for children and teacher training.
