Under the Convention, 10-C01-108 “Improved management of water resources in agriculture to ensure food security in the Palestinian Territories and Jordan” is occurring in all areas where interventions are ongoing, a documentary to be screened this summer in the presence of the Embassy of Spain in Amman, several international donors and various national authorities (Ministry of Planning, Water, Agriculture, Environment etc.) and local authorities (municipalities, associations and local communities).
The content provided,
- Interviews are included with beneficiaries – farmers, women, people of the villages where they are implementing the Convention’s activities, interviews with staff of the OTC Amman, FPSC staff and JOHUD (FPSC local partner in the Convention).
- The difficulties of the water situation in Jordan are shown, exacerbated by the scarcity of water that makes the country one of the driest in the world.
- The measures being implemented in order to promote the sustainable use of scarce resources with which exist, through the use of traditional methods such as storage tanks for rainwater, drip irrigation, etc, as well as modern methods such as gray water treatment, “organic farming,” etc.
In interviews of people living in villages where they are carrying out the activities of the Convention, it was intended to show the impact these activities have had on improving agricultural productivity, with more water and better and more prudent use of water collected.
The company is producing the documentary, Sound Gear, is from Amman, and was created by the director Marwan Yassin and produced and photographed by Ehab Attari.
