Institutional Support to Social Organizations in Paraguay

From October 24th till 27th, a working Seminar with the title The Role of the Civil Society and New Challenges for the International Development Cooperation took place. Teresa María Pérez Payán, trustee of the FPSC, was in charge of conducting the event, in which 35 representatives of the local organizations of Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia participated.

In addition to the speeches of the experts, several workshops have been organized, in charge of the organizations of Paraguay PROMU and ADEXTRA, which presented different cooperation experiences leaded by their own volunteers. These experiences are targeted for groups of people with few resources in the region of Gran Asuncion, mainly in Bañado, Botánico, Tacumbú, Sajonia, Del Bajo, Santa Rosa y Viñas Cué.

FPSC works in Paraguay since 1998 and has undertaken several projects with the help of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID), the Generalitat Valenciana, the Diputación de Valencia and The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). The Seminar took place in the EFAES premises, a project aimed at the training of micro-entrepreneur women funded by FPSC and OFID.
