‘Las mañanas del fin de semana’, a program directed and presented by Fernando de Haro on Cadena Cope, wanted to know first hand with Macarena Cotelo, our Project Manager, the situation of the displaced people in southern Lebanon, after the escalation of the conflict due to last week’s bombings in the region.
In the interview, Macarena explains that there is “a general movement of solidarity to try to help all these people”, since families and refugees, who, in the end, are the main ones affected, “naturally look for relatives in the West or in other regions, who can take them in and run away from the conflict”.
In this regard, our Director was able to mention the work that the Foundation is carrying out, in collaboration with the NGO Aida, in the region; through an agreement that aims, on the one hand, to promote the economic strengthening of the Lebanese and displaced Syrian population and, on the other hand, to promote social cohesion between government, organizations and people whose rights are violated in this critical situation.
