Within the framework of the project to favor the access of people in vulnerable situations to decent work through micro-entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on tourism (https://bit.ly/3j0Be25), which we developed in consortium with the Association of Upper Egypt for Education and Development (AUEED) and financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), during the months of September and October different activities have been carried out that favor the objective of the project
Thus, various training workshops have been developed, each lasting two days, held on September 12 and 13 in Luxor and September 14 and 15 in Sohag, to deal with the basic aspects of product development. A total of 36 people participated in them, of which those who should receive more support and follow-up were identified, depending on their potential and needs.
Later, in the month of October, three of the young people who participate in this activity, Amany, Korollos and Ester, have exhibited their artisan products at the Torathna Fair, the most important and well-known of the sector in the country, and which has been held from October 9 to 15 in Cairo with more than a thousand exhibitors.
Likewise, from October 13 to 16, also in Cairo, a training of trainers was held with the team and personnel responsible for the training and microfinance of AUEED on non-financial services.
Finally, from October 18 to 21, a market research data analysis workshop was held in Ain Sokhna, in which 11 members of AUEED staff participated. During the meeting, the responses to the 520 surveys of small and medium-sized enterprises in Upper Egypt were examined in detail.
