The current situation in Venezuela has led the country to a state of hyperinflation whose immediate consequence has been the sudden increase in poverty. Combined with this problem are other issues such as crime, corruption, drug trafficking and violation of human rights.
In this context, the Association of Art and Science, ASAC, promotes in Caracas and also in other states of the interior of the country, various initiatives for the purchase of basic necessities, food and medicines, through alliances with foundations established outside of Venezuela.
Thus, although the work of ASAC has traditionally been carried out in low-income communities, serving women and their families, to which it offers tools for their empowerment, it currently serves 225 families in the metropolitan area and the center of the country, specifically from the states of Aragua and Carabobo.
The general coordinator of the ASAC team is in charge of buying and acquiring the goods and with the help of 5 other employees the food and medicines are distributed.
