Six months ago, the project “Improving socio-economic situation of the vulnerable women of Paraguay through education and professional training” began with the aim of building a new reference training centre.
Through this initiative we seek to remedy limited access that many young women have to training because of the long distances they have to travel and the cost of transport. This, in turn, has a negative effect on their access to the labour market and socio-economic development. For this reason, FPSC, together with its local partner ADEXTRA and financed by OFID, have launched this project which includes the construction of a new training centre in Fernando de la Mora. From this centre quality education will be offered oriented to the professional exit in one of the most vulnerable zones of the region.
The school, currently under construction, will offer the Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences to the graduates, with specialization in gastronomy and micro and small business management. Adult women will be given vocational training and non-formal education in cooking and craft areas.
