On May 15 2014, a new distribution of mobility aids was performed in the refugee camp Za’atri. The FPSC staff, in collaboration with Al-Hussein Society technical staff, distributed various mobility aids, according to the identified needs of 9 recipients with cerebral palsy, 12 new cases were evaluated.
In total, the FPSC and AHS mobile clinic brought to the camp 21 mobility aids for 10 recipients on the list; 19 have already been distributed to families. Two teams of physiotherapists checked and customized every aid according to the needs of patients. They also explained to the families how to use them properly and how to make basic physiotherapy in their tents.
During the day 5 pairs of medical shoes, 1 walker, 4 cerebral palsy wheelchairs, 1 normal wheelchair, 3 orthosis, 1 standing frames and 4 cerebral palsy chairs were distributed to 9 families, since one the 10 called for the distribution didn’t come.
All the special aids distributed in the camp by the FPSC are for disabled children under 18.
Also, the two teams assessed 12 new cerebral palsy cases that were identify previously by the FPSC physiotherapist inside the camp to provide them with mobility aids and/or physiotherapy sessions.
