EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPmENT AND AWARENESS RAISING
The Foundation is aware that citizenship is necessary to generate a culture
of solidarity committed to the fight against poverty and social exclusion,
as well as to the promotion of human and sustainable development. For this, an educational process that integrates knowledge, attitudes, and values is necessary.
Therefore, Social Promotion sets up initiatives every year, paying special attention to youth, to publicize the reality of the countries in which it works, and the causes of poverty, social exclusion or violation of rights. The objective is to create critical consciences and generate attitudes and commitments that are supportive and help to transform the reality, not only of the South but also in the North, which is where a large part of these imbalances are found.

Cooperation (AECID), Social Promotion has held two seminars throughout the year.
The seminar “Human right to water and sustainable development in the Middle East” was held on February 8, at the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University of Vicálvaro, in Madrid. The objective was to
raise interest in the university field on the problem of the right to access water in the Middle East and to promote reflection on the great challenge and opportunities offered by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
On the other hand, to address the situation of Palestinian women in rural areas, the challenges they face, as well as the need to promote models of sustainable rural development and respect for the environment, on June 28, took place the seminar “Women’s rights in rural areas in Palestine from

The Centre for Middle Eastern Studies (CEMO) of Social Promotion Foundation is a multidisciplinary think tank that regularly brings together experts to reflect, exchange views and seek joint solutions to different aspects of the Middle East reality.
