“Cambiamo il futuro delle migrazioni. Invest in nella sicurezza alimentare e nello sviluppo rurale“, held at the FAO headquarters in Rome, in October, on the occasion of World Food Day. During the meeting, the structural factors that cause large movements of people were addressed so that migration is safe, orderly and regular. In this way,
it can contribute to economic growth and improve food security and rural livelihoods, bringing countries closer to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Also, from December 11 to 13, 2017,
the Third Forum of Catholic Inspired Organizations was held in Rome to reflect on its mission as promoters
of Humanity. With the assistance of more than 100 organizations, and the participation of experts in the different areas of work of the same, the Forum allowed opening an interesting debate about the impact of the continuous social changes in the different areas of activity.
CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY
Social Promotion Foundation provides institutional and economic support
to social initiatives that through their activities promote cultural and social values, the dialogue between cultures and the promotion of peace. In 2017, these grants have been allocated
to the Naira Association (Spain) and the Maria Beatriz Lopes da Cunha Foundation (Portugal).
It also supports educational institutions and programs that encourage education at different levels: basic education, professional training and university education,
and access to it for people of limited resources, considering that education is an essential element to make people protagonists of their own development, generating true social wealth. In 2017 the Foundation has supported the university training programs of the Somosierra and Zurbarán Colleges in Spain, and in Italy, the Fontana Nuova Association and the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.
