On Saturday, February 2 took place the presentation of projects LEAVE YOUR MARK, a collaborative space where more than fifty young people born in 2005 shared their ideas and actions to change the world from their own environment.
Pablo Sánchez Carmenado, founder of the group of runners DrinkingRunners that has donated almost 90,000 kilos of food thanks to his ‘#Kmsxalimentos’ project, was in charge of assessing the initiatives that were presented.
The awarded projects were ‘Operation Moratalaz’ of the Torrelaguna Youth Association in the category of Teamwork; ‘Think your music’ of the El Vado Youth Association in the Innovation category; and ‘# Welcome to the world’ of the Albufera Youth Association in the category of impact on the environment.
In this event a sweatshirt of the Generation 2005 designed with the volunteers own ideas was presented.
The Social Promotion Foundation LEAVE YOUR MARK Project promotes that the girls born in 2005 develop their first social projects.
LEAVE YOUR MARK, implemented in collaboration with youth associations, provides new volunteers from the Social Promotion Foundation with social innovation workshops, material for the development of actions and participation in a final event.
The social innovation workshops are based on Learning by doing and Design Thinking methodologies, and they are organized before the young volunteers begin to design their social projects.
Among the objectives of LEAVE YOUR MARK, it is highlighted that young women are able to detect the needs of the rest and provide concrete solutions within their reach; that the volunteers (monitors) of the youth associations learn to lead training workshops aimed at the social commitment of the youngest, and that each youth association becomes a space for social awareness and dynamisation.
