Solidarity wins in uncertain times in Palestine

As COVID-19 continues spreading, straining the health systems of the World’s most powerful countries, the international community is concerned about how the vulnerable countries in crisis will cope with it.

Nearly all Countries across the globe are feeling the strain. In Palestine where the food insecurity is already high, particularly in Gaza Strip reaching the 62 per cent, imagine the scenario now amid the coronavirus pandemic that is upending our daily life. While these are unprecedented circumstances, the effects of which will be long lasting, we are truly inspired by the many demonstrations of humanity we have seen around us in response.

One of them, is the work of our partner, the Agricultural Development Association (PARC), under their campaign “We are with you”.

PARC is supporting people in Bethlehem Governorate -the most affected one till now in the West Bank- by distributing a truck of vegetables and fruits donated by farmers and cooperatives in Tulkarem area.

Similarly, a group of its volunteers in Toubas, prepared flour bags to reach the most vulnerable families.

As Izzat Zeidan Director of programs and projects of PARC, says: “It is true that COVID-19 is a survival-health issue, at the same it is matter of Food Security for most the people where new vulnerability raised. Time for volunteers and solidarity as most efficient responsive action, we want to continue our “we are with you” campaign with our partner Social Promotion Foundation until we cross the pandemic safely together.”

And it is amidst this uncertainty when solidarity is thriving and community support becomes even more critical as only supporting each other, we will made it against all odds. Thank you PARC!
