Empowering of poor rural women of the Department of Carazo, Nicaragua, through the implementation of a technical and vocational training programme oriented on leadership and empowerment

In November 2010 ACOEN-local partner-launched a Social Centre, Vega Baja, in the city of Diriamba, Carazo aimed at formation of young women.

This project constituted its second phase and drove the construction of a Training Centre that offers an entry-level training accredited by the National Institute of Technology (INATEC).

The main objective of the project was that the students of the Social Center, Vega Baja were capable of conducting their professional practices whilst receiving theoretical studies. This opportunity gives them some experience before entering the labour market to ensure the performance quality of their work.
