LATIN AMERICA
Education has been present in many
of the projects of Social Promotion Foundation in Latin America during 2017. Thus, thanks to the help of The Opec Fund for International Development (OFID), the Italian Episcopal Conference and private funds of Social Promotion Foundation, a project in the countries
of Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay and two projects in Guatemala, which have tried to offer vulnerable women,

coming from rural areas, professional training oriented to employment, strengthening their capacities.
On the other hand, the Foundation, with the support of OFID, has worked on two projects whose objective has been to guarantee access to drinking water and sanitation for the rural population of Bolivia and Haiti, with a positive impact on health through construction and infrastructure rehabilitation. In 2018, for the same purpose, the activities of a new project financed by the Regional Government of Madrid will begin in Bolivia.
The sector of sustainable farming development has also been a priority
in Nicaragua and Peru, through the development of two projects funded by the Italian Episcopal Conference and “la Caixa” Foundation, respectively. These projects will improve the training of farmers and ranchers and agricultural production, and consequently, the food security of the population.
