AFRICA
Ethiopia has been the priority country
for Social Promotion Foundation in
2017. Work has been done to improve the quality of health services, through the execution of three projects at the Saint Gabriel Health Center in Addis Ababa. Emphasis has been placed on the training of personnel from 11 health centers, and initiatives aimed at reducing the rate of maternal and infant death. These projects have had the help of “la Caixa” Foundation, Majadahonda City Hall and Hoyo de Manzanares City Hall.
In 2018, the activities of a new project that has the support of the Alcalá de Henares City Hall of will begin.
Also in Ethiopia, in the agricultural development sector, the help of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID)
has made it possible to undertake a series of actions aimed at promoting development in rural Ethiopia in the short, medium and long-term, through the promotion of more efficient and effective agricultural techniques, the responsible use of land and balanced nutrition education. In Mozambique, thanks to Canal Voluntarios, the objective has been to improve water supply and sanitation of rural districts in the south.
Finally, Social Promotion Foundation has also provided support to the Karibu Sana project in Kenya, which seeks to encourage the enrollment of children without resources. An initiative that is developed thanks to private donations.
